1. The airline's fare rules come first
Each fare has its own rules for changes and refunds, set by the airline. Before you pay, your agent explains the rules for your fare, and you can see a summary under “Flight details, bags & fare rules” on every fare on our website. In general:
- Basic economy fares usually cannot be changed or refunded after the 24-hour window.
- Standard fares can often be changed, sometimes for a fee plus any difference in fare. If not refundable, the unused value may be kept as an airline credit.
- Refundable fares can be refunded to your original payment method, sometimes minus a fee.
2. The 24-hour rule
For flights to, from or within the United States, US Department of Transportation rules require airlines to let you either hold a reservation at the quoted fare for 24 hours without payment, or cancel within 24 hours of booking without penalty, when you book at least 7 days before departure. Most airlines offer free cancellation within 24 hours.
To use it, call us at +1 (424) 445-3853 within 24 hours of your ticket being issued. We are open 24/7. A full refund is made to your original form of payment.
3. When the airline cancels or significantly changes your flight
Under US Department of Transportation rules, you are entitled to a refund of your ticket, including taxes and fees, if the airline cancels your flight or makes a significant change, and you choose not to travel or not to accept an alternative flight or other compensation. Significant changes include:
- a departure or arrival time changed by 3 hours or more on a domestic flight, or 6 hours or more on an international flight;
- a different departure or arrival airport, or an added connection;
- a downgrade to a lower class of service; or
- for travelers with a disability, a change to a connection or aircraft that is significantly less accessible.
You may also be entitled to refunds of checked bag fees when bags are significantly delayed, and of fees for paid extras (such as Wi-Fi or seat selection) that you did not receive. Airlines must refund within 7 business days for credit card purchases and 20 calendar days for other payment methods. If you are offered a credit or voucher instead, you can choose the refund.
If your flight is cancelled or changed, call us and we will rebook you or request your refund from the airline. Refunds for tickets are paid by the airline to the original form of payment. See Air Traveler Rights for details.
4. Changes you make
To change dates, times or routes, call us. We check what your fare allows, tell you any airline change fee and fare difference, and make the change only after you approve the new total. Name changes are generally not permitted by airlines; minor spelling corrections may be possible.
5. Missed flights (no-shows)
If you do not take a flight and don't cancel before departure, most airlines cancel the rest of your itinerary, including any return flight, and the fare may be forfeited. Call us before departure if you can't travel.
6. Our service fee
We do not currently charge a separate service fee for booking or for processing cancellations and refunds. If we introduce a fee, it will be disclosed in the price before you book.
7. Hotels, packages and cruises
Hotels, vacation packages and cruises have their own cancellation deadlines and penalties, which we give you in writing before you book. Consider travel insurance for non-refundable trips.
8. How to request a refund or cancellation
Call +1 (424) 445-3853 (24/7) or email travelvoyagesol@gmail.com with your booking reference. Refund timing depends on the airline or supplier; we keep you updated until it is paid.
